Kashish Sharma built the Cinopsys app as a free application. This SERVICE is provided by Kashish Sharma at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform users regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information if anyone decides to use the Cinopsys app.

By using this Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information collected automatically

Cinopsys uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device or improve app performance.

This includes:

  • Device or other identifiers (such as Firebase installation IDs and FCM tokens)
  • App usage and interaction data (Firebase Analytics)
  • Crash logs and diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics)
  • Performance data (Firebase Performance Monitoring)

This data is used solely to improve app stability, performance, and user experience.

1.2 Information stored locally on your device

Cinopsys stores the following data locally on your device only, using Room Database:

  • Movies and TV shows you mark as watched
  • App preferences and viewing history

This information:

  • Is not uploaded to Cinopsys servers
  • Is not shared with third parties
  • Can be removed at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data

1.3 Authentication and third-party APIs

Cinopsys uses third-party APIs and services for authentication and content:

  • Trakt – used for user authentication via OAuth
  • TMDb – used to fetch movie and TV show metadata

Cinopsys does not collect or store your Trakt username, email address, or password. Authentication is handled directly by Trakt.

2. Cookies

Cinopsys does not use cookies directly. However, third-party services used by the app may use cookies or similar technologies to improve their services.

  • Google Firebase (Analytics, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring)
  • Google Play Services
  • Trakt API
  • TMDb API

These services may have access to limited data strictly for performing their assigned tasks and are obligated not to use it for other purposes.

4. Data Security

All data transmitted by the app is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. While commercially acceptable means are used to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Account and Data Deletion

Trakt account deletion

Cinopsys uses Trakt accounts for authentication. To delete your account and associated data:

  1. Visit https://trakt.tv and sign in
  2. Go to Settings → Advanced
  3. Select Delete Account and confirm

Local app data

Any data stored locally on your device (such as watched movies and shows) can be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing app data.

This Service may contain links to third-party sites. Cinopsys has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

7. Children’s Privacy

Cinopsys does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If such information is discovered, it will be deleted promptly.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Users are advised to review this page periodically. Changes are effective immediately after being posted.
